Suman Adhikari
Suman Adhikari is a graduate student in the department of optometry at the University of Houston. He works in Dr. Jason Porter’s lab where he images different retinal structures in high resolution using adaptive optics scanning laser ophthalmoscope and study the changes in those structures.
In the future, Suman wants to study about different diseases that affect the retina, their progression and treatment efficacy.
He also works as a teaching assistant in the optics lab and help the students in their experiments.
Suman learned the practical approach of teaching and strengthened the reasoning skills through PDP. E verything that he has learned through the PDP has definitely helped him be a better teacher and guide for the students. If he continues to be a guide or an independent teacher in the future, the PDP training will have a very direct impact on his teaching and he will use all that he has learnt in practice mainly focusing on the inclusiveness and equity.
